Introduction
to the Crazy-Cups Grading Program
As
sport stackers engage in sport stacking, the fun, competitive and
addictive nature of this sport attracts the stackers to keep stacking to
improve their own timings.
However, there is no easy and structured means to motivate individual
stackers for sustained stacking over prolonged period of time. Holding
Challenges (competitions) is a good reason to motivate stackers but it
takes much effort to organize one. Challenges only celebrate the
success of the few winners, and may limit the
number of participants and hence keep most average stackers away. Stackers
attending local Challenges will only get to meet and make friends with
stackers from their immediate stacking community, such as the school that
they go to, but not beyond.
Hence, Crazy-Cups brain-stormed and created a new Grading Program,
with the aim to effectively motivate stackers to keep stacking over a longer period
of time, and to bond the world-wide stacking communities together.
The new Grading Program is introduced to grade the stackers according
to their Cycle Stack speed. This will keep the interest of the
stacker high as he/she aims to achieve senior belts with faster timings.
Regular grading sessions can be easily organized (much more frequently than
competitions) to test and record the timings of the students. This
is a less formal (and therefore easier to organize) and more individual
approach compared to the Crazy-Cups Challenge. To recognize all
members’ good effort, their best graded timing will also be published on
the Crazy-Cups Website and Forum,
categorized by Belt colors.
Stackers' timings are categorised into 9 different Belt colors:
1. Black:
7.99 sec & below
2. Brown:
8.00 - 8.99 sec
3. Red:
9.00 - 9.99 sec
4. Blue:
10.00 - 10.99 sec
5. Green:
11.00 - 11.99 sec
6. Yellow:
12.00 - 15.99 sec
7. Orange:
16.00 - 20.99 sec
8. Purple:
21.00 - 25.99 sec
9. Grey:
26.00 - 30.00 sec
Having
the Grading Program will keep the stacking interest high and prolonged:
1. Structured grades – there is a
structured path for stackers to achieve a faster timing, through
progressing up the various levels of the grading program, and ultimately
achieving the highest level - Black Belt! The less formal grading sessions can also be held more
often than Challenges (competitions).
2. Recognize every stacker's
achievement – the
best timing of every individual stacker will be published on the
Crazy-Cups Website and Forum,
giving the stackers recognition for their effort and achievement. The stackers
can compare their results against others to motivate themselves to do
better in the next grading. This program also complements well with
stacking competitions that provide a more competitive and testing
experience but unfortunately focus on
the success of just the few winners.
3. Platform for stackers from all four
corners of the world to meet - Each successful grader will be assigned a
Crazy-Cups Forum ID that belongs to his/her Belt group. The
Crazy-Cups Forum will provide a platform for stackers from all
corners of the world to meet and make new friends with the same interest -
Sport Stacking.
How does the grading work?
Stackers who are keen to be graded are encouraged to write
in to Crazy-Cups for a Grading Center near you, and the next
grading date. As this program is still very new, we will have limited
Grading Centers initially. Schools and teachers who are keen to
implement this Grading Program please write
in to Crazy-Cups to enquire about being one of our partner Grading
Center.
Stackers will fill up a registration form and submit it to the Grading
Center (A small fee may apply; check with the Grading Center). On
the grading day, first-time participants will be issued a Crazy-Cups
Member Card. Each stacker will be given 3 tries to perform the Cycle
Stack. The best timing will be recorded on the Member Card. Members
who better their previous grading record will have their new timing
recorded on the Member Card. Stackers get to keep their Member Card
for their next grading.
All stackers' best timings will be published on the Crazy-Cups Website and Forum.
